Bradford PA — VNA of Northwest PA, formerly McKean County VNA and Hospice, has been named a Top 100 Agency of the 2014 HomeCare Elite™, a recognition of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. It is the second consecutive year the agency has earned Home Care Elite designation, and shows exceptional improvement to rank within the top one percent of home health care agencies in the nation.
VNA of Northwest PA was the only home health agency in the region, and one of only four in Pennsylvania, named to the 2014 HomeCare Elite Top 100, a compilation of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States developed by OCS HomeCare by National Research Corporation.

Now in its ninth year, the HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of agencies and highlights the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall. Winners are ranked by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in quality outcomes, best practice (process measure) implementation, patient experience (Home Health CAHPS®), quality improvement and consistency, and financial performance. In order to be considered, an agency must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least one outcome in Home Health Compare. Out of 9,994 agencies considered, 2,501 are elite.
“There are nearly 10,000 agencies across the nation evaluated for the Home Care Elite Award, so being in the top 100 places the VNA in top one percent of home care agencies in the nation,” said Judy Baumgartner, Chairperson of VNA of Northwest PA Board of Directors . “This is one more indicator that VNA of Northwest PA is raising the bar on quality for residents of the region and setting ourselves apart from other home health agencies.”
